Meet Terra:

Terra, according to Josh:
Terra is a very caring person and is always trying to help people.  She is also outgoing and social and loves hanging out with her friends.  She is very artistic and creative and loves to think of new fun ideas.  She sees the beauty in things and comments on how they would make such a cool picture (she's a photographer, and is really amazing at it).  She is good at organizing events and managing children (she got her degree in Elementary Education and taught sixth grade for 4 years).

While teaching school she also worked for a photography studio and decided after having our first son that she would quit teaching school to stay home with him and do photography part time. She loves to play games, have parties at our house, watch tv, play laser tag, ride go carts, scrapbook, design, and loves to read with her boys. She also is known as the best hider when we play hide and seek in our house.

Terra-her side of the story:
I love to be around people and love to hang out with my friends.  I love my two little boys and they are always making my life interesting for sure!  I am outnumbered in our house and would love to do some girly stuff, like tea parties, painting nails, playing dress up (my boys do, but superheroes are different than princesses!), and reading books that girls like! I LOVE to find great places to eat.  One of our favorite things to do is go try new restaurants.

I love to find ways to serve others and have recently became involved in the national organization Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.  It has really changed my life and perspective on life.  It is a really hard and emotional thing to do, but the families that I serve make it all worth it.  I also am involved in the Women for Women International organization.  This organization's main goal is to give women education.  A wise man in Ghana once said: you educate a man, you are educating an individual, but you educate a woman, and you are educating a nation,” and I truly believe that.

Some things that not many people know about me are-I've never had a cavity-ever-and am terrified to get one!  I also saved up enough money to go to France when I was fifteen.  One of the ways I did that is I needed four teeth out before I could get my braces.  We didn't have dental insurance, so it was going to cost $150 a tooth for the dentist to pull them.  So instead, my dad paid me $75 a tooth to pull them with some pliers.  I took some Tylenol (didn't help ;D) and made $300.  When I want something, I will find a way to get it!

One of my favorite sounds is waves crashing-not on a CD, but in real life.  I could just sit for hours at a beach and listen to the waves-or go play in them!  I love being in the sun, although my freckled skin thinks differently.  I love to dance-at home, at weddings, in my car :D

I love to chase my boys around.  We play Superman (on my feet), tickle tourtures, flips off of mommy and tag.  They are hilarious-I think I've mentioned that-and they make me laugh everyday.  I just love listening to their laughs.  Actually that is my favorite sound in all the world.

Those are a few things about me, but here are a few more fun things.

Favorite books: I love to read when I have the time.  My favorite books have been Harry Potter, Les Miserables, Jane Austen books, The Hunger Games, the Giver and Lord of the Rings.

Favorite Flowers:  Because I am around beautiful flowers all of the time for my job I love many kinds of flowers.  I love green orchids, tulips, peonies, garden roses, anemonies, and little yellow billy balls.

Games I like to play:  We LOVE having friends/family over for game nights. Some favorites are Bang! Settlers of Catan, Sequence, Clue, XBox Kinnect and even sometimes Halo.

Favorite Music: A little bit of everything-I love alternative though.  I probably listen to country the least, although I like some songs/artist.  I really have a lot of favorite bands/artists, but right now I would say  I love Coldplay, Bush, Ingrid Michaelson, U2, Sarah McLachlan, 30 Seconds to Mars, Pink, Snow Patrol, Maroon 5, Guster-I mostly listen to alternative and pop.

Favorite TV shows: I love comedies like the Office, Park and Recreation, Modern Family, and the Big Bang Theory.  I also became surpisingly addicted to Vampire Diaries.  I also enjoy some reality TV like the Voice, the Biggest Loser , and So You Think You Can Dance.  I also like watching documentaries on Netflix like Food Inc, the Cove and anything by Howard Zinn.

Favorite Movies: When I was a teenager we watched Dumb and Dumber & Tommy Boy all the time!  I love action movies like the Italian Job, the Bourne series, and the A-Team.  I also love romantic comedies like How to lose a guy in 10 days, Hitch, and Return to Me.  Now we watch a lot more shows that are for kids.   I love Enchanted and Tangled and pretty much anything from Pixar.  I love watching the Harry Potter movies as well and also loved the first Pirates of the Caribbean.  I also love the National Treasure movies.

Favorite Quote: My favorite quote is by one of my favorite people in the world, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland.  I look at it everyday to keep things in perspective.  "...no misfortune is so bad that whining about it won't make it worse."

Elder Holland married Josh and I in the Salt Lake Temple.  He is such an amazing example to me and I love his sense of humor.  He can make you laugh and cry in less than ten minutes.  He really loves people and the word that always comes to mind when I think about him is "jovial".

Favorite Food/Dessert:  Like I said I LOVE FOOD.  But some favorites are about anything Italian, especially the Gnocchi at Wolfgang Puck's.  I am not really picky and will try just about anything once.  I have ate snails, rattlesnake, shark, octopus-none of them I liked, but at least I tried it! I don't eat a lot of meat though-I love carbs with cheese :D  I LOVE chocolate and ice cream, preferably together!  I really need to be an investor in Ben & Jerry's since I buy so much :D

Favorite vacation:  I really love to travel.  I have been to France three times and have loved it every time.  I also loved when we took a cruise to the Western Caribbean for our ten year anniversary.  I hope that we can go to Germany and Hawaii some time soon and hopefully to Tonga or New Zealand to visit my best friend Tara that lives now in Tonga.
One of my favorite places in France is La Cote de Granit Rose-pictured left.  The orange rock against the dark blue ocean is breathtaking.  I also loved Cozumel (right).  We played on the beach, went snorkeling, and had a dune buggy tour.
